Welcome to StatsTeatret’s 8th instalment of Norwegian history! This time the 1980s Aker Brygge – where dreams come true, and the bubbles burst!
StatsTeatret takes you back to the 80s and to the song about the free market. Back to the decade where profitability, share issue, corruption, insider trading and “milking the cow” became part of the vocabulary. The decade when off-white became a color, and we all became Poco Loco.
We meet the brothers Wilhelm and William, and follow their adventurous journey through stock exchange, bank and housing speculation. Not least, we will follow the brothers’ culinary journey from fish-sticks with their mother, to meeting with Chinese, Indian, Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine in 80s Oslo.
Welcome to Fame, Sweet Dreams and Dancing in the Dark. We had Faith and met many a Material Girl who wanted StatsTeatret. Take on Me or Beat It. And if Eye of the Tiger stared at us, we stared back. We all have a Hungry Heart so Wake me up before you go-go, cause I see True Colors and I am walking on Sunshine, come on, Lets Dance! Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now, Take My Breath Away, Cause I Can’t Fight This Feeling, Baby, I am Free – Free Fallin ‘! We didn’t start the Fire, but we were all on the Final Countdown.
